Animals
This gallery showcases the digital paintings I produce from photographic references of your pets.
I use various software packages and a pen tablet to produce these paintings digitally. Both the software and hardware allow for full expression of hand movement and therefore gives the artist the ability to produce work in their own individual style, just like the traditional ‘wet’ artist - but without the mess.
I set out mainly to provide a personal service. I prefer to work from a photograph which I would take specifically for this purpose.
There is no financial commitment on your part at this stage. This is so that you feel totally relaxed about approaching me for my services.
Provided that you are in my local area, we would arrange a time, date and location which could be your back garden or public green. I would shoot an average of 15 - 25 shots. I would forward the full selection within 2-3 days (in reduced resolution) for you to choose the photo I work from, I usually complete a painting within 7-14 days, at which point I would e-mail the image to you for approval. Then and only then, on your approval will I ask for 50% of cost. Printing and framing will commence on receipt of the deposit. The balance would be due on your collection of the framed print.
Although it is possible for me to work from a photograph that you already have in your possession, it must be of a high quality, pin sharp and the subject matter should fill the frame. You could also set out to take a suitable photograph yourself. This is perhaps the best option for a cat as they rarely turn up on time for the photo shoot, nor strike a pose on demand. Take your time (over several days) to ensure a pleasing image. Digital file size should be at least 3Mb. I will be able to advise you of its suitability once forwarded to me.
Please feel free to call me if you wish further advice on best location, lighting etc.
